For An Entrepreneur Creating Value Each Day Is Important

 

“There are many entrepreneurs who work all seven days of the week.  For me, it’s not about whether it is Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, rather it is more about planning your day well in advance. I believe that most entrepreneurs fail because of one simple reason – lack of self discipline. Every day offers something new for you. If you have worked on something over the weekend, you know you can execute it on Monday as it is a working day. So if you invest your weekend well, then ‘Mondays’ can become even more productive. That’s the reason there is no ‘Monday Blues’ for entrepreneurs.

 

Every day is a fun day! If you get into this ‘Monday Blues’ syndrome, then there would be no difference between being an employee or an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship is a 24x7 commitment. You don’t have to be working all the time, but an entrepreneur is always thinking, innovating, coming up with some unique ideas. Even in their dreams they think about their business. For entrepreneurs, their work is deeply embedded in their brain & nervous system and so the internal conversation happens all the time! I believe that each day should be productive. I refer to this as MPV (Most Valuable Proposition) – something that I have gained in each day of my life!"

Team Members Should Look Forward To Coming To Work On 'Mondays' 

 

“Years ago I started a special practice for Mondays in our company.  Usually our office starts at 9:30 am but on Mondays we start our office by 10 am. The reason is that during the weekend several employees travel to their native hometown which could be within a radius of around 100 km. So if they are coming directly from their hometown, it is not so much of a problem for them to get to work. Apart from this, on every first Monday of the month, we discuss the overall business strategy which is a positive way to start the week. Also on Mondays, the first half of the day is devoted to completing all pending tasks from the week before. This ensures that our staff is not stressed and compelled to work like machines from the word go! All these practices make employees more comfortable about coming to work on Mondays. I firmly believe that happy employees are the key to a successful enterprise.”

Starting Your 'Monday' On The Right Note Leads To A Productive Week

 

“My ‘Monday’ actually starts on a Sunday afternoon. I do a weekly review wherein I do an assessment of all the issues at hand – personal and professional. Then I map them, put them on my calendar and prioritise the whole week. This usually takes 1-2 hours. This prepares me for my week. Monday mornings I wake up half an hour earlier than my usual time, so that I get a head-start. I make sure that even if something bad has happened at the beginning of the day, I try to just ignore it and focus on the tasks at hand. This ensures that I have a good ‘Monday’ and a productive week.”
