The buzz around startups is immense. Though funding is what catches eyeballs, often though, what startups need the most is space from which they can operate and skill training when they don’t have the luxury of hiring experts for different roles. Space and skill training are hard to find.
Rammohan Reddy, Co-Founder and CEO of Next Space Private Limited has established a practice that assists startups in these fundamental ways. Established in 2016 in Bangalore, his startup, provides space for about 50 people at a time and provides them with skill training. The vision of the company is to give startups wings and enable them to fulfil their dreams.
In conversation with GlobalLinker (GL) Rammohan Reddy (RR) shares the journey of his startup.
GL: Tell us about your business.
RR: Next Space Workspace & Training was started in 2016 by a group of experienced IT experts with a mission to provide quality assured hands-on training to people who want to upgrade their skills and workspace to new and aspiring entrepreneurs. Having served the IT industry, Next Space understands the needs of today’s IT professionals. We specialise in catering the startups and emerging companies by setting up co-working zones which gives them an opportunity to build networks and allows collaboration with leaders from various fields.
GL: What challenges you have faced in establishing your business?
RR: We find that there is a constant need to find the best mentor/trainee that can deliver and execute client satisfaction. Deciding upon an ideal location and agreeing upon the interiors of a workspace has been a massive challenge. We’ve put a lot of thought and work towards designing the interiors of the workspace to suit the clients’ requirements and create a comfortable & productive working environment.
Our primary challenge has mainly been raising funds for our company since we haven’t involved venture capitalists to forsake the ability to make decisions at the early stage of the company.
Placing customer integrity and satisfaction on a higher priority than revenue generation, has caused a couple of roadblocks along the way, however none that we cannot overcome.
GL: What is the USP of your business?
RR: Our training is centred around ‘learning by doing’ and we believe that this is the key to the progressive learning experience. All our course curriculum undergoes immense research to analyse the market need and appropriately provide appropriate quality content that our attendees shall cherish in both their professional and personal career.
Programmes are designed to encourage ‘learning by doing’ and help the participant to achieve their goals.
GL: What are some of the milestones of your business?
RR: Our 50-seater workspace was occupied to a threshold of 90% in less than 3 months.
We’ve held numerous sessions on cloud technology, user design, and entrepreneurship and are soon expanding to other fields.
We intend on advancing at a progressive pace to soon accommodate at least six training sessions in a week.
GL: What role do you feel GlobalLinker plays in connecting and assisting SMEs?
RR: We understand that majority of our prime users are SMEs and GlobalLinker helps us connect to our clients. GlobalLinker adds value to our business-client relationship by providing a platform to connect.
GL: What is your big business dream?
RR: Next Space should be the go-to place for those who dream of changing the world.
We aim to be a household name in terms of learning and skill building.
We shall design and execute top-notch training programmes which will help empower participants to achieve their goals.
GL: What is your message to aspiring entrepreneurs?
RR: Don’t waste time in creating business plans. Validate your assumptions by creating a minimum viable product and get your product into your customer's hands as soon as possible. With this approach, customer needs and requirements can be rapidly adopted and better products can be designed to suit the market need.
